Jurassic World Sequel Gets Release Date

The biggest movie of the year is set to get a sequel and we’ve got the full details right here on Clevver Newsfeed! Today’s episode of Clevver News Feed is brought to you by the new John Green movie, Paper Towns in theaters July 24! We all knew Jurassic World was going to get a sequel and now we have an official release date! Universal Pictures has announced that Jurassic World 2 (or would that be Jurassic Park 5?) will arrive in theaters on June 22nd, 2018 almost exactly three years after the current hit roared into theaters. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are set to return for the sequel that will be written by Jurassic World writer and director Colin Trevorrow and co-writer Derek Connolly. Trevorrow previously stated that he would not return to direct the sequel, but will executive produce the film alongside Steven Spielberg and producer Frank Marshall. No word yet on which director will helm the project. The announcement comes just days after Jurassic World surpassed The Avengers to become the third highest grossing film of all-time worldwide behind Avatar and Titanic with over $1.5 billion. The Jurassic World sequel currently has the June 22nd weekend all to itself with an Untitled Pixar movie set for the previous week and How To Train Your Dragon 3 and Terminator Genisys 3 currently set for the following weekend. In addition to dinosaurs and dragon, June 2018 will also see the release of a Godzilla sequel on June 8th.
